Penn Charter Summer Camps has widened its offerings this year with a slate of new one-week camps to complement its returning favorites: Day, Sports, Performing Arts and Varsity camps.

Four new Gaming camps explore board and card games, role-playing games, chess and board game design.

Five new STEAM camps dive into science, technology, engineering, art and math – all through a different topic. Each week campers will investigate and create something new.

Creative Crafting Camp provides a fun and creative outlet for young makers. Children will have the opportunity to explore their artistic side through a variety of craft projects, including candle making and soap making.

In Broadway Jazz and Musicals dance camp, campers will learn fundamentals from Broadway-style jazz and musical theater as well as routines from shows such as A Chorus Line and West Side Story. And in Beginners Tap, young dancers will begin to experiment with the rhythms and patterns of tap dance as they work toward style and speed.

In Drumming Camp, budding musicians will learn how to play hand drums and body percussion, develop their drumstick techniques, and explore a wide variety of pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments.

Good Eats Camp explores the science behind recipes — molecules interacting with other molecules, creating combinations of taste and texture. Campers will explore the different scientific principles and then apply them by creating yummy snacks they can eat and share with others.
